Auburn University’s new College of Education building provides a modern home for teaching, research, collaboration, and student life on the Auburn campus. The three-story, 167,000-square-foot facility brings three academic units together under one roof and features collaborative classrooms, instructional laboratories, research spaces, and informal gathering areas. Construction began in 2023, with the building opening to students in summer 2025.
HNP’s scope included site and landscape design, paving and sidewalk layout, site furniture, irrigation, and site signage. Wide concrete and brick-paved plazas provide inviting connections between the building’s entrances and the surrounding campus sidewalk network, while a carefully coordinated landscape palette helps integrate the new facility into its campus setting. The planting design includes more than 1,000 trees, shrubs, and ornamental grasses, creating a cohesive landscape that complements the surrounding campus landscape. The College of Education reflects Auburn’s continued investment in spaces that support collaboration and innovation. For HNP, the project represents another opportunity to contribute to Auburn University’s evolving campus landscape and to create site improvements that serve students, faculty, and visitors for years to come.
