The pedestrianization of Thach Avenue was the first phase of the implementation of a campus-wide master plan that includes closing selected streets to convert them to pedestrian only corridors. The intent of this master plan is to transform the entire campus core into a pedestrian-friendly environment by emphasizing a higher-quality and safer experience for students, faculty and visitors. HNP provided the corridor design including site furnishings, pedestrian lighting and landscape design.
